Jiva Psychiatry provides psychiatric care for patients ages 6 and older, with in-person appointments in Palatine, Joliet, and Chicago and telepsychiatry options for patients located in Illinois. Our services include psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing follow-up for concerns such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and mood disorders.
Led by Meera Nair, MD, an ABPN board-certified psychiatrist, Jiva is built around a straightforward belief: people deserve to be heard, understand their options, and take an active role in their care. Our team includes psychiatric providers and collaborating therapists with different areas of experience, allowing us to consider each person’s needs when discussing care options.
Getting to know you is an important part of that process. We take time to understand your concerns, treatment history, daily challenges, and what you hope to change. Questions are welcome, whether you are seeking psychiatric care for the first time or looking for support with an ongoing concern.
Our approach considers the whole person. Along with symptoms and medical history, we pay attention to sleep, nutrition, physical activity, stress, relationships, and other circumstances that may affect mental health. These conversations help us develop a fuller understanding of your needs rather than focusing on a diagnosis alone.
Treatment planning is a conversation, not a one-size-fits-all process. We discuss appropriate options, explain their potential benefits and risks, and consider your preferences and goals. Follow-up appointments provide time to review how you are doing, address concerns, and make changes when needed.
We want patients and families to feel informed and respected throughout the process. When you contact Jiva, our care team reviews your request, discusses available provider options, and explains the next steps. Appointment availability and the appropriate approach to care depend on the person’s needs and the services available through the practice.
